Home Sweet Home

We made it back! Everything went well with Mallory's appointment on Monday morning, we said our good-bye's (a few tears went along with them) at the hospital and RMH and were on our way to Syracuse. We arrived in Syracuse just in time to see Logan's first "at bat". He was excited to see Mom and Mallory and played a great game. Mallory was funny and kept yelling "Yeah Bobo" and clapping her hands. :) Her voice isn't all the way back yet, so it was very sweet. When Madison saw us, she looked at us like we had two heads, but then realized we were really home, gave us big hug and kisses and went off to play with her friends. It was great seeing so many of our friends and neighbors.

Mallory was offically Logan and Madison's "show and share" item today at school. She loved seeing all the kids and I was very impressed with the way all the kids kept their hands to themselves. For me, it's back to the Mom stuff and we start our first round of doctors appointments for Mallory tomorrow. She will see her Cardiologist, Dr. Ameeta Martin. We are excited to see her again. She isn't going to believe how pink Mallory is!

I promise to keep everyone updated on this blog as to Mallory's doctors appointments and biopsises. (Did I spell that correctly? It looks funny. I wish this had spell check!) Can't wait to SEE everyone soon!

So glad you are home at last! You deserve so much happiness!! As the saying goes -- many people come into and out of our lives without a trace, but some leave footprints that will last forever -- your family are those forever footprints. God knew how much I needed you during one of the most challenging times of my life. Wendy, seeing your face always lifted my spirits. When I would see you it felt like I was seeing family. Isn't it funny how a complete stranger can become such a dear, dear friend???? Little did I know that morning in March when we checked in for a cath right behind you and Mallory we would share such a connection!! God works in amazing ways. Thank you also for sharing an amazing moment with me when no one in my family was around -- the moment I found out Tessa was getting a new heart. It meant so much to have you there with me. I didn't quite know what I was feeling -- excited, scared, sad, happy, etc. -- but I knew you knew exactly how I felt. I will miss seeing you and Mallory, but we will definitely be in touch!! Love to everyone!!

I saw you guys at Ethan's game I was so amazed that I saw u and I was os happy to see you all together again and I talked to Malory while I was pushing her because Madison is in my brothers class so I asked her if she was excited that her sister was home and she said yes. Morgan Mueller told me on Monday that you were coming home and I was so glad. I always said at the end of my letters hope to see you in Syracuse and guess what I saw you and I was so happy in side. I'm so glad that Malory got to go to school and get to see all the kids I bet she liked that.
Well I hope to see you at Jo Bobs or after Ethan's games because i am so glad that Malory is out of the hospitol and back home.
go Malory and stay healthy. Your story has touched my heart and I am pretty sure you have touched many other hearts.

Welcome home Mallory and Wendy! I am sure Grandma Jan and Grandpa Ken were thriled and relieved to finally see with their own eyes how Mallory is doing. What a relief it must be for you Wendy to be back in your own home, sleeping in your own bed and getting back into a routine. I know it can also be a little nerve racking to leave the comfort of having all those caregivers just a stones throw away, but know that everyone will be continuing to pray for Mallory, you and your family. Can't wait to see your whole family back in church together-what a glorious day that will be! Until then take care and enjoy being back in Nebraska. Good luck at the Dr appt's, I'm sure all Malory's Doctors and Nurses back here are anxious to see Mallory as well! We will continue to pray for them as well.

So glad to hear you made it home safe. We didn't stop by to see you on Monday because I hate goodbyes. We already went through one of those and didn't want to do it again. Some day we will have to get together in Nebraska. I've never been there. Ryan is doing great and will get his line out next week. I'll be calling you soon. Please tell everyone hello and thanks for being such great neighbors at RMH.

Take care,

Wendy!

I am so glad to know that you and Mallory are back at home. I had
put Mallory and your family on the New Hope Presbyterian Church's prayer chain. Lots of church people asked me for updates and I was delighted to share your good news. We are praying that Mallory continues to heal and be healthy and that your family soon settles back into its normal routine.
