Happy Summer

Well, summer is in full swing at the Mueller home. Between baseball games, t-ball games, Vacation Bible School, swimming lessons and doctors appointments we have put the biz in busy. :)

Mallory had her second biopsy on June 6th. The results came back as a one (1r). This means she is showing a tiny bit of rejection. No worries! Dr. Gumbiner is pleased with this result and told us to expect it at some point. They don't start treating it unless it's a 2, 3, or 4. Zero is the best, four is the worst. Mallory is just a ball of fire! She has so much energy and is just so funny. She is constantly singing while she is playing and wants to do everything her big sister is doing. She also doesn't want Logan out of her sight. She enjoys watching their ball games and cheering for them.

I spoke to Janice, Tessa's Mom, yesterday. Tessa is doing great and made it through her first biopsy with no problems. She was a zero on her first biopsy as well. GO GIRLS! They have seen Avery at clinic and he too is doing great. I feel so blessed to still have these wonderful people in our lives. God bless them all.

Mallory's next biopsy is in 6 weeks. If I don't write before then, I promise to update at that time!

Hello Again!

Were you wondering if I was ever going to update this page again!? :) Mallory is doing great. We had three doctors appointments since we have been home, and all is well. At the last Cardiology appointment she had a blood draw, Echo and EKG. Everything came back looking great, and there isn't fluid around her heart any more. Yippee! Mallory will have her next biopsy on Wednesday, June 6th. Dr. Gumbeiner warned us that at some point in the first year after transplant we can expect to see a biopsy come back showing some amount of rejection. He told us not to worry, that we will get it under control right away if it happens.

Mal had a physical therapy evaluation with Cathy Ebers at Handprints and Footsteps in Lincoln. She had "play time" with Cathy after her first two surgeries. Cathy was very excited to see Mallory and was amazed by how good she looks. Mallory is also doing very well physically. Cathy feels she will not need long term physical therapy. Some of the things she is having difficulty doing, like crawling onto the couch and chairs, is mostly due to her short legs, rather than lack of strength. :)

We are all still adjusting to life as "Party of Five". As Scott and I both expected, all the kids are testing limits and seeing what Mom and Dad are going to agree on. The kids are already out of school for the summer and the activities have begun. We are very lucky to have a WONDERFUL young lady, Chandra Rumery, helping us out this summer. She will be hauling Logan and Madison to different activities and watching them when Mallory has appointments. I even had the chance to get my hair cut by myself! It was strange walking into Chris's shop and not hauling a diaper bag, entertainment, snacks, and kids along with me. It was very nice. :)

I know you addicts out there would love to see something written daily again. Well.. I'm sorry to break the news, but it probably isn't going to happen. :) I will continue to update periodocally, like once a week or so. But if you really want to know what is going on, just give us a call. We would love to talk to you all. Thanks again for the continued support and prayers. We really appreciate it.
